10-12 years can be tarnished by an anger of 10-12 minutes. Our anger blazes our success. We gain strength by digesting food in 24 hours. The same amount of strength goes in vain, when we are angry for even a few minutes. Excessive anger during childhood may lead to weakening of mind when we grow. It is said, an angry person becomes violent in two ways - sometimes he harms himself and sometimes he harms others. In my childhood, I remember a boy in my neighbourhood who often became angry. One day, someone said something rude to him and he became very angry. He had to appear for an exam on the same day but he decided not to go, even though his family members tried to convince him. As a result he failed. Thus his anger tarnished a precious one year of his life.

SOCRATES was always surrounded by his disciples, and this would be a source of continuous irritation to his wife. One day she called Socrates while he was in a discussionwith his disciples. She called him again and again… but Socrates was completely engrossed in discussing ametaphysical subject with his disciples. On this, she ran out of patience. What next? Anger, bottled up for long, just burst. She took a bucket full of water and turned it upside down on Socrates' head. The disciples became highly agitated. But, do you know what Socrates' reaction was? He smiled and calmly said, “I have come to know only today that thundering clouds sometimes rain as well”.
